Software engineer shipping language-model-powered products.

Four years of writing the unglamorous code behind AI features that work in production — backends in FastAPI and Laravel, interfaces in Next.js, model orchestration that doesn't fall over at 3 a.m.

about

I build the systems that sit between people and large language models — APIs, agents, retrieval pipelines, and the interfaces that make all of it feel sane.

Most of my work lives at the seam between Python and TypeScript. I reach for FastAPI when latency and streaming matter, Laravel when a real product needs to ship without yak-shaving, and Next.js + Tailwind + shadcn/ui when the front end has to feel as deliberate as the backend.

I care about the parts most demos skip: retries, evals, cost ceilings, tracing, the moment a model returns garbage and a real user is waiting. Docker and Coolify keep my deployments boring on purpose.

experience

2024 — PRESENT
Senior Software Engineer, AI
Stealth startup·Remote
Leading the AI platform — orchestration across OpenAI, Anthropic and open-weight models, evals, and the internal dev tooling that lets the team ship features without re-inventing prompt scaffolding.
  • Cut average response latency 41% by streaming + smart routing.
  • Designed the eval harness that gates every prompt change.
  • Mentored two engineers from "I know Python" to shipping prod.
2022 — 2024
Full-Stack Engineer
Independent / contract·Remote
Built and shipped products end-to-end for SaaS, agencies and early-stage founders. Backend in Laravel and FastAPI, frontend in Next.js, deployed on Docker + Coolify. The fun part was the AI features: drafting, summarization, search.
2021 — 2022
Backend Engineer
Product agency·Remote
Wrote PHP and Laravel for client products — auth flows, payments, admin tools, the unglamorous stuff that doesn't get screenshotted but keeps customers paying.
2021
Junior Developer
First role·Onsite
Started with PHP and small marketing sites. Learned that the boring 90% — caching, error handling, observability — is what separates a prototype from a product.

Got a hard problem with LLMs, a backend that needs shipping, or a product idea you keep coming back to?

I'm taking on a small number of new engagements. Tell me what you're building — I'll reply with a real opinion, not a sales pitch.
